Someone has a few tabs open and a trip in mind. Your website has to do two things: make the place feel worth visiting and give them enough detail to decide. A beautiful room is a beginning. Knowing which room, what is included and how to reserve it gets them further.
We design websites and content for independent hotels, villas and retreats. The work connects the character of your property with the practical journey from a first look to checking availability, making an enquiry or booking through your chosen platform.

01 / A SENSE OF PLACE
A sense of place. Photograph by John Fornander. A visual reference, not a client property.
FOR INDEPENDENT HOTELS, VILLAS & RETREATS
The feeling. And the finer details.
01
A place people can picture.
Art direction, page layouts and copy that show the actual experience. We plan a useful photography brief around the rooms, setting and details that make your property yours, then work with the approved images you have or commission.
02
Room to make a decision.
Clear room types, sleeping arrangements, amenities and inclusions. Location, access, check-in, cancellation terms and accessibility information belong where a guest needs them, with details confirmed by your team.
03
A considered route to booking.
A visible availability or enquiry action, with the handoff to your booking engine planned from the start. We review mobile use, date selection, room selection and confirmation within the agreed integration scope.
04
Content you can keep current.
An agreed way to update offers, property information and seasonal content. Search foundations and useful destination pages can support discovery; tracking can help you understand the path to an enquiry or a booking handoff.
A PRACTICAL GUEST JOURNEY
From "looks lovely" to "let's stay".
Walk through the website as someone booking for the first time. These three moments give the design brief a useful shape.
01
Picture the visit.
Show the setting and the kind of stay on offer. Use genuine property photographs and specific descriptions so people can judge whether it suits their trip.
02
Settle the questions.
Can the room accommodate the group? What is included? How will they get there? Put these answers near the room or stay information, before asking for a commitment.
03
Check the whole handoff.
Follow the booking action on a phone. Does the right property or room carry through? Are dates, prices and terms clear? Test the return path when the guest changes their mind.
Can the website work with our existing booking engine?+
We review your provider and its documentation before recommending a connection. The right approach may be a booking link, an embedded journey or a supported integration. We agree on what can be controlled, what the provider owns and what needs testing before the build.
Can you help with property copy and photography direction?+
Yes. Content planning, copywriting and art direction can be included in the brief. We can define a shot list and the details each page needs. New photography production, location access and usage rights are scoped separately, and your team approves all property information.
Do you work with properties outside Jamaica?+
Yes. Absurd is based in Kingston, Jamaica and works with businesses worldwide. We plan the project around your property, guest audience, booking tools and review process. On-site work, where needed, is discussed as part of the scope.
Will a new website guarantee more direct bookings?+
No website can guarantee bookings. Availability, pricing, demand and the offer all matter. We can make the information and booking journey clearer, agree on what to measure and use real visitor behaviour to inform later improvements.
